The CTS Turbo CTS-TR-1020 is a premium hybrid turbocharger engineered for 2015+ MQB platform vehicles, offering a direct-bolt-on upgrade for existing IS12, IS20, or IS38 turbochargers. This unit replaces the factory housing with a custom-designed, proprietary stainless steel exhaust housing to accommodate a larger turbine wheel. The compressor cover is also custom-made to fit a popular TD06 billet compressor wheel, enabling the turbocharger to reliably handle over 30 PSI. At its core, the CTS-TR-1020 features a dual ceramic ball bearing CHRA, known for its heat resistance and durability. The assembly is completed with a high-performance 9-blade turbine wheel and is precisely balanced on a VSR high-speed balancer to exceed OE tolerances. This turbo is a brand new unit, eliminating the need for a core exchange or long wait times. Installation involves swapping over the existing actuator and turbo outlet fitting. Software tuning is required for optimal performance and is available from most tuners. Compatible tuning solutions include United Motorsport, Eurodyne, and COBB. Fitment includes a wide range of 2015+ VW and Audi models, specifically: 2015+ VW Golf/Sportwagen/Alltrack, 2015+ VW GTI, 2015+ VW Golf R, 2019+ VW Jetta GLI, 2018+ VW Arteon, 2015+ Audi A3, 2015+ Audi S3, 2015+ Audi TT, and 2015+ Audi TTS. Note: Always follow the proper procedure for checking and adjusting the wastegate actuator during installation and always replace the engine oil.
