The Strictly Diesel Cummins Fan Hub Adapter provides a durable mechanical alternative to the factory electronic fan clutch system on 2003-2018 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks equipped with 5.9L or 6.7L Cummins Common Rail engines. By replacing the electronic clutch with a mechanical unit—specifically the 1994-1997 Ford Powerstroke Diesel fan clutch—this adapter eliminates potential electronic control failure and improves cooling performance for towing or heavy-load applications. Installation requires specific tooling, including a vise and ball joint press, as the hub must be pressed into the bearing. For 2003-2007 5.9L models, a 6-bolt fan blade is required; for 2007-2018 6.7L models, users must utilize either the stock 6-bolt blade or a 5.9L Cummins fan blade. Removal of the factory electronic clutch will trigger a soft error code in the vehicle's computer, though it typically does not activate a "Check Engine" light. Compatibility constraints are strict: this product does NOT fit 2002 and older 12-valve or 24-valve engines, nor is it compatible with 2019 and newer engines. Users should be aware that A/C performance at idle may be affected in warmer climates, as the mechanical clutch relies on temperature and airflow rather than computer-commanded speed.
