This extreme duty tie rod is a direct bolt-in replacement for the stock tie rod, providing an immediate upgrade in steering feel, stiffness, and strength. Unlike factory and some aftermarket tie rods, it's adjustable at both ends, allowing for precise suspension settings specific to your lift/application. It's manufactured in the U.S.A. from 1-5/8 inch diameter SAE 4130 heat-treated chromoly steel tubing and features 1-1/4 inch thread forged steel greasable tie rod ends. The modular design allows for individual tie rod end replacement, saving cost, and uses the same tie rod end at both ends, meaning only one spare needs to be carried. The tie rod ends can also be unscrewed and screwed in from the other side if a flipped tie rod setup is desired. Installation typically takes 3-4 hours with basic hand tools, and an alignment is recommended afterward. Flipping the tie rod would require retapering the tie rod end holes from the top of the knuckle (rod end taper is 1.5-inch per foot).
