The Cusco Type RS LSD is designed for low to mid-power vehicles. It features a lower number of plates, making it highly reactive with low resistance for better clutch response, pedal feel, durability, and reduced clunking noise. The RS model utilizes a coil spring to apply activation pressure in the same direction as the initial torque, allowing for a smoother and quicker initial clutch plate engagement from a non-operational to a fully functioning state, even with a low initial torque setting. This design enables a smooth turn when the LSD mechanism is not activated, providing gentle and stable operation. The RS springs maintain constant pressure against the clutch plates, minimizing initial torque loss over time. The pressure ring has dual profiles for switching between 1-way & 1.5-way, 1-way & 2-way, or 1.5-way & 2-way without additional components. It activates under acceleration with less understeer under deceleration compared to a 2-way LSD, recommended for those who struggle with understeer.
