This design choice aims to improve engine efficiency and performance by feeding the engine throttle body with colder air, which can lead to a small increase in rear-wheel horsepower and a more aggressive, throatier exhaust sound. The intake features a polished, clear-coated aluminum tube with a TIG-welded, machined-aluminum F Sport logo. This assembly is F Sport-engineered to be fully compatible with the vehicle's stock engine controls, ensuring seamless integration and emissions compliance, as it meets California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements and is emissions-legal in all 50 states. This performance air intake is compatible with various Lexus IS models from 2014 to 2017/2018. Specifically, it fits the 2014 Lexus IS250, the 2016-2017 Lexus IS300, and the 2014-2017 Lexus IS350. It is important to note that while the F Sport version is generally compatible, some sources indicate specific trim or engine variations within these model years that may affect fitment, and customers are advised to verify compatibility with their exact vehicle configuration.
