The CSS Cylinder Support System is a proven method for strengthening OEM aluminum open-deck engine blocks without the need for full replacement sleeves. The support rings are crafted from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, which helps to pull post-combustion heat away from the chamber and decrease intake charge temperatures, unlike cast iron sleeves that can cause heat soak.

The CSS Cylinder Support System offers a robust solution for high-horsepower applications by strengthening OEM aluminum open-deck engine blocks. This system utilizes precision-machined billet 6061 support rings, which are installed by precisely machining the water passage to accept them. This creates an equal support pressure around the cylinders, preventing common issues like cracking, walking, and bellmouthing associated with high power outputs. Unlike traditional aftermarket cast iron sleeves, the CSS support rings are made from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum. This material choice offers a significant advantage in heat management, as it actively pulls post-combustion heat away from the chamber, thereby decreasing intake charge temperatures. This contrasts with thick cast iron sleeves, which can suffer from heat soak due to their poor heat transfer properties, potentially limiting performance during demanding use. The installation process for the CSS involves shipping the engine block to CNC Werx in the USA for the service, followed by its return. The entire process for the CSS installation alone typically takes approximately 2-3 weeks. It is strongly advised to O-ring the block when utilizing the high-horsepower CSS service. Additionally, it is recommended to perform finish machining work after the CSS process is complete, as the CSS service can distort the top of the cylinders.
