The Honda D15B is a 1.5L SOHC Dual VTEC engine, identified by serial number D15B-3505839, sourced from a 1996-2000 Honda Civic in Japan. This low-mileage JDM engine has approximately 43,000 miles and comes complete with the fuel rail, injectors, intake manifold, and dual VTEC solenoids, as shown in the actual item photographs. This engine is designed as a replacement for 1996-2000 Honda Civic models and is interchangeable with several U.S. vehicles. However, buyers are strongly advised to consult with their mechanic to confirm compatibility before purchase. In some cases, it may be necessary to use this engine as a long block (engine block and cylinder head) and transfer external accessories from the original engine to ensure proper function. Before installation, it is recommended to reseal the engine with fresh valve cover, oil pan, and rear main seals. Servicing the timing components, including inspecting or replacing belts, tensioners, and the water pump, is also advised while access is easy. Ensure the engine receives fresh fluids and filters before the initial start-up. Additionally, be prepared to transfer your original engine's accessories, such as the intake, alternator, A/C system, and harness configurations, as these can vary by market.
