The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA440-1288B is a remanufactured Dana 35IFS axle assembly designed for 1991-1994 Ford Explorer models with a 3.55 gear ratio. This assembly undergoes a rigorous rebuilding process to ensure precision and reliability. Each axle assembly is thoroughly inspected for straightness, cracks, and surface wear. All internal components, including ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, are fully inspected and tested. As part of the remanufacturing process, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced. The gears are meticulously inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and set to the correct rolling torque using inch-pound measurements for precise setup and longevity. Proper gear backlash is also established to ensure quiet operation and correct lubrication.
