Dana 44 Crossover Steering Kit

The Sky's Offroad Design Dana 44 Crossover Steering Kit is engineered to significantly upgrade the steering system on vehicles equipped with open knuckle, flat top Dana 44 live axle spindles. Each kit includes a Billet A50 Passenger Side High Steer Arm, a Drag Link (which may be formed to clear cross members or for high lift applications), a Pitman Arm, GM 1 Ton High Angle Long Thread Tie Rod Ends, and a Chromoly Stud kit. The steering arms are constructed from ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel, known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and durability in structural applications. The included studs are made from heat-treated chromoly bar with a tensile strength of approximately 190kpsi, designed to withstand extreme use. Conical washers, also made from chromoly, are included to prevent distortion. Installation requires either a factory flat top knuckle that has been machined or an aftermarket flat top knuckle. For 67-87 Chevy/GMC vehicles, a switch to a 2WD steering box is necessary. 88-2010 Chevy/GMC models may need a swap to a 4-relief sector shaft or the entire steering box if their current box has a 3-relief pitman arm. These installations will also result in the loss of the factory sway bar, with Currie Anti-Rock recommended as a replacement. Dodge W200-W300 trucks require a steering box relocation to the 2WD position and potential sway bar modification or replacement. Specific modifications are also noted for 1976-1979 Ford F-Series trucks, including potential steering box relocation and pitman arm indexing. This kit is built to order, with fabrication taking up to 5 business days, and the machine shop operating Monday through Thursday. It is important to note that this kit is not compatible with closed knuckle axles, TTB, or unit bearings.
