Darton MID Cylinder Sleeve Kit

The Darton 400-190-P MID™ Sleeve Kit represents a superior solution for enhancing engine block strength and cooling, particularly for high-performance Honda K20 applications. Darton pioneered modular sleeve designs using specialty ductile iron, offering cast iron performance within an aluminum block for improved integral strength. The MID series sleeves employ a patented design that reinforces the upper deck area by creating a solid deck of sleeve flanges held in tension. This design allows for individual sleeve replacement and enhances stability, accommodating larger bore sizes and higher boost potential than traditional "cast in sleeves". Darton's "Swirl Coolant Technology™" is integrated into these MID sleeves, actively managing and enhancing coolant flow around the flange area to promote stability and efficient heat dissipation where it's most critical. Furthermore, the sleeves are treated with a phosphate coating. This microcrystalline structure provides optimal corrosion and rust resistance, acting as a protective barrier for the lower o-rings and resisting abrasion from turbulent coolant flow. This process helps eliminate hot spots, allowing for increased horsepower output and a more robust combustion process.
