It features high carbon cast-iron rings with aerospace-grade aluminum hats (T6061-T6), held together with National Aerospace Standards (NAS) bolts and crimp nuts. The 5000 Series incorporates advanced performance technology, including DBA's patented Kangaroo Paw ventilation for cooler rotor temperatures and T3 non-directional slotting (some variants include XS cross drilling). The aluminum hats reduce unsprung weight, allow for uniform radial disc expansion, and reduce heat transfer from disc to hub.
