Deka Fuel Injector, Index 12

This injector utilizes a 2-hole nozzle for precise fuel atomization and delivery directly into the combustion chamber. As the most up-to-date revision, designated as index 12, it replaces previous versions and incorporates internal improvements. It is important to note that all new injectors will have "13537585261-12" imprinted on them. All new turbocharged BMW engines rely on direct fuel injection systems, which operate at significantly higher pressures than conventional port injection. These systems are highly dependent on properly functioning fuel injectors. Symptoms of faulty injectors can include engine misfires or a rough idle. BMW has issued several redesigns for this fuel injector to address potential failure points, making this index 12 version the latest iteration. Due to significant differences in calibration and construction, injectors with index 10 and lower cannot be mixed with injectors of index 11 or higher on the same cylinder bank. It is absolutely vital to inspect the index number on your existing fuel injectors before installation. FCP Euro highly recommends replacing all fuel injectors simultaneously, especially on modified vehicles, to ensure optimal performance and consistency. A calibration procedure must be performed after installing new injectors. The adjustment value, which is unique to each injector, must be read from the injector before installation and recorded for the calibration process. The injector tip is protected by a cap to prevent contamination and keep the viton seal compressed. This cap should remain in place until just before installation, as the seal expands, making installation difficult without specialized tools to compress it.
