Differential Assembly

Each assembly undergoes a comprehensive inspection process to ensure straightness, check for cracks, and assess surface wear. All internal components, including ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, are meticulously inspected and tested. To guarantee longevity and optimal performance, all bearings and seals are replaced with new ones. The gears are carefully inspected for ideal tooth contact patterns and set to the correct rolling torque using inch-pound measurements. This precise setup ensures proper gear lubrication, quiet operation, and extended service life. Additionally, axle tubes are inspected and straightened to meet OEM specifications. Zumbrota employs an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure on both internal and external parts. This is followed by a proprietary shot-enticed deep cleaning process, which sets a high standard for axle assembly remanufacturing and restores housings to an OEM finish. This specific axle assembly is designed for GM 8.6" vehicles from 2003-2005, with a 3.73 gear ratio. It comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
