Internally, all components, including ring and pinions, gears, clutches, and carriers, are fully inspected and tested. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new parts. Zumbrota's remanufacturing process includes precise setting of gear backlash for proper lubrication and quiet operation. The gears themselves are inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and correct rolling torque, measured in inch-pounds for accuracy. The axle tubes are also inspected to meet OEM standards for straightness. For cleaning, Zumbrota employs a state-of-the-art hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure, followed by a proprietary deep cleaning process that restores the housing to an OEM finish. This specific axle assembly is designed for the Ford F-150 models from 2006 to 2008. It is compatible with various trims including the FX4, Harley-Davidson Edition 4WD, King Ranch 4WD, Lariat 4WD, STX 4WD, XL 4WD, XLT 4WD, as well as the 2008 Limited AWD and 2008 60th Anniversary Edition 4WD.
