The MSD ignition kit is a performance-focused package engineered for Chrysler 413, 426 Wedge, and 440 big block engines. It is important to note that this kit is not compatible with 383-400 engines, though it will work with Raised Block 383 models. The kit features the Digital 6AL ignition box (6425), which utilizes a microprocessor to control spark output and rev limiting, delivering up to 135mJ of spark energy. It is paired with a CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum Pro-Billet distributor (8546) featuring a .500-inch steel shaft with a friction-reducing QPQ coating and an adjustable mechanical advance assembly for custom tuning. Included ignition components consist of an 8.5mm Super Conductor wire set (32739) with low-resistance copper alloy conductors and EMI-suppressing magnetic cores, along with a Blaster 2 high-voltage ignition coil (8202) and an 8213 coil bracket. These components are compatible with 4, 6, or 8-cylinder engines using 12-volt, negative ground electrical systems, and the system can accept trigger inputs from breaker points, amplifiers, or magnetic pickups.
