The Dakota Digital Universal Speedometer Signal Interface ELA-SGI-5 is a versatile module designed to streamline instrumentation for modern drivetrain swaps, custom builds, and performance applications. It consolidates the functionality of three separate calibration tools into a single, compact unit. This interface excels at precisely adjusting, splitting, and recalibrating electronic speed signals, ensuring accurate speedometer readings regardless of transmission type, tire size, or gear ratios. Additionally, it supports tachometer calibration and can generate gas-style tach signals for diesel conversions, making it an indispensable tool for achieving accurate gauge performance. Key features include a speed signal adjustment range from 25% to 400%, multiple speed outputs to feed several devices simultaneously, and a built-in electronic pull-up that accepts both high and low voltage inputs. For tachometer functions, it supports 1-16 cylinders with selectable 5V or 12V signals and offers diesel-compatible outputs for 4, 6, or 8-cylinder tachometers. The unit can read signals from flywheel sensors, timing gear sensors, or alternator W-terminals. Programming is facilitated via Bluetooth using a mobile app, with onboard buttons and an LED display providing a convenient alternative for manual configuration. It is important to note that this interface is not compatible with ABS sensors or most ’86+ European or ’96+ Jeep tachometers.
