Direct-Fit Intercooler

The CTS Turbo Direct-Fit Intercooler is engineered as an upgrade for MQB 1.8T and 2.0T vehicles produced from 2015 onwards, featuring a black finish. Its primary function is to combat heat soak, a condition where the stock or inferior intercooler becomes saturated with heat, leading to reduced engine performance, pinging, and timing pull. By upgrading to this intercooler, drivers can ensure their charged air remains cool, leading to more consistent power delivery. Constructed with a high-density bar-and-plate core and cast end tanks, this intercooler is capable of supporting up to 600 wheel horsepower. Airflow directing fins are integrated into the end tanks to promote even air distribution within the core. The design prioritizes minimal pressure drop while allowing sufficient airflow to the radiator. Its core measures 25″x2.25″x16″, offering a significant volume increase over stock units, such as the Golf R's 542 cubic inches or the GTI's 493 cubic inches. This intercooler is compatible with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Frontal Collision Warning systems. However, it's important to note that some 2019 and newer models may require the Front Collision Warning system to be adapted by a VW dealership after installation. The intercooler is designed for direct fitment on all MQB 1.8T and 2.0T cars, including facelifted models. It is explicitly not for Gen3 Jetta, Passat, or Beetle vehicles that are not MQB platform. Fitment includes a wide range of Audi and Volkswagen models, such as the 2015+ Audi A3/S3/TT/TT-S, 2018+ Audi SQ2, 2015+ Golf, Sportwagen, Alltrack, GTI, Golf R, and others. It is also compatible with various Skoda and Seat models within the MQB platform. A specific exclusion applies to the 2018+ Tiguan models equipped with the 8-Speed Tiptronic transmission.
