The Escort 0010057-2 Direct Wire SmartCord is a hardwire kit designed for most Escort windshield radar detectors. It features a SmartPlug module that includes a blue power-on light, an amber alert lamp, and a mute button. This cord allows for direct connection to your car's electrical system, bypassing the cigarette lighter.

The module can be conveniently mounted using the supplied hook & loop fastener. The power input cable measures 47 inches and includes an in-line 2-amp fuse, with a 47-inch ground cable. The connection to the detector is via an RJ-11 cable, which is 10 feet long.

The Escort 0010057-2 Direct Wire SmartCord provides a clean and efficient way to power your Escort windshield radar detector by hardwiring it directly into your vehicle's electrical system. This eliminates the need to use a cigarette lighter or accessory power outlet, resulting in a more integrated and professional installation. The SmartPlug module is a key feature, incorporating a blue LED for power-on indication and a distinct amber alert light to warn of radar or laser detection. It also includes a convenient mute button, allowing you to silence alerts as needed. This module can be easily mounted in a user-preferred location using the included hook and loop fastener. Installation involves connecting the power/ground harness to your car's fuse box. The power input cable is 47 inches long and includes an in-line 2-amp fuse for protection, while the ground cable is also 47 inches.
