DISA Valve

The Rein Intake Manifold Adjusting Unit, also known as a DISA valve, is an OEM-quality replacement designed to restore lost torque and performance in specific BMW M54 and M56 engines. This component is crucial for variable intake runner systems, controlling a flap that redirects intake air to optimize performance across different RPM ranges. At lower RPMs, the flap closes to enhance low and mid-range torque, while at higher RPMs, it opens fully to allow maximum air volume for peak power. A malfunctioning DISA valve can manifest in several ways, including a noticeable sluggishness or unresponsiveness in the low to mid-RPM range. While the DISA valve itself may not trigger a specific fault code, its failure can lead to related diagnostic trouble codes such as fuel trim errors, engine misfires, lean conditions, and incorrect fuel mixtures. Additionally, a worn-out valve may produce an audible clicking sound from the driver's side of the engine bay as its solenoid attempts to actuate the flap, and a failing o-ring seal can introduce vacuum leaks. It comes with a two-year warranty. The valve is specifically designed for the M54 engine in various BMW models, including the E46 330i, 330xi, E39 530i, 2004-2005 E60 530i, Z3 3.0i, and 2003-2005 Z4 3.0i. It also fits the E46 325i/325Ci models, but only those equipped with the M56 SULEV engine specification.
