The CP4 pump's sensitivity to contamination, exacerbated by tight tolerances and high operating pressures, can lead to catastrophic failures where debris is propelled into injectors, rails, and lines, necessitating thousands of dollars in repairs. This Generation 2 kit offers a refined, factory-style installation that is completely reversible, requiring no cutting or the use of rubber fuel lines and pex clamps. It focuses on preventing injector contamination by keeping the high-pressure side of the fuel system free from debris. The innovative design includes an integrated contamination sensor that alerts you to potential issues before they cause major damage, and a reusable return fuel filter with a 20-micron screen that allows for easy inspection and cleaning, eliminating the need for disposable filters. SPE's approach re-routes the fuel flow to ensure that clean fuel from the filter reaches the MPROP (volume control valve) and CP4 pump heads, rather than potentially contaminated fuel from the crankcase.
