The US version of the 500 Abarth is fitted as with similar tie rods that are much thinner and more flexible.The advantage that sets these lateral suspension cradle tie rods apart from the stock version is that they were developed without bending them to fit the chassis, resulting in greater rigidity.
These tie rods reinforce the chassis structure by connecting the suspension subframe to main frame member.
