Overview

This plenum for the Porsche 992 Turbo & Carrera is designed to provide better response across the entire powerband. Porsche's 992 generation 911s are all turbocharged, and the plenum is a shared component between Carrera and Turbo models. do88 developed this plenum by comprehensively 3D-scanning the engine bay to understand structural limitations. Drawing on experience from previous Porsche plenums, they adopted a Y-joint design over the T-shaped OE plenum, which is more efficient for airflow by distributing air more evenly and with less pressure drop. The plenum is manufactured from cast aluminum to achieve complex shapes not possible with CNC machining, prioritizing function over form. It features soft, sweeping lines with revised radiuses and angles. Connections are CNC-machined, and the kit includes silicone hoses for optimal fitment and durability. Airflow improvements are verified using CFD (Computer Flow Dynamics) and a Superflow SF1020 flow bench. Removing restrictions for turbocharged air reaching the inlet leads to better throttle response and performance gains.
