Door Bushings

The bushings are injection-molded from DuPont's fiberglass-reinforced Zytel nylon resin, boasting 3x stronger tensile strength, 6.5x less stretch, 1.5x greater resistance to bending, and 39x better impact resistance than previous versions. This robust construction ensures longevity, even under demanding conditions. By replacing the flexible factory components with these stiff, durable bushings, the door is more securely anchored, allowing it to contribute more effectively to the car's structural integrity. This results in a noticeable improvement in the overall stiffness of the vehicle, minimizing squeaks and rattles often associated with older or heavily used cars. Users report a transformative effect on the driving experience, with enhanced responsiveness and a more solid feel. Installation is straightforward, typically involving the removal of two bolts securing the factory rubber bushing and the installation of the new Zytel part. Proper door alignment is recommended for optimal performance, and minor adjustments may be necessary for vehicles with a history of chassis work. These bushings are sold in pairs and are compatible with a wide range of Mazda Miata models from 1990-2025, as well as the 2017-2020 Fiat 124 Spider and 2017-2025 RF models. Flyin' Miata notes that while compatible with all Miatas, some ND3 owners have reported squeaking, which is being investigated.
