The Motul DOT 5.1 is a high-performance, 100% synthetic glycol-based brake fluid. It offers water-absorbing characteristics similar to DOT 3 and 4 fluids while providing very high boiling points and stable viscosity across a wide temperature range. This fluid is compatible with and can be mixed with existing DOT 3 or 4 fluids.

It is suitable for trucks equipped with ABS brake systems and is not silicone-based. Using this fluid is recommended for towing heavy loads to prevent a soft brake pedal and increased stopping distances.

The Motul DOT 5.1 is a high-performance, 100% synthetic glycol-based brake fluid designed for various automotive applications. This brake fluid incorporates the water-absorbing qualities of DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids, but with significantly higher boiling points and more stable viscosity across a broad spectrum of temperatures. Its formulation ensures reliable performance even under demanding conditions, such as towing heavy loads, where it acts as a safeguard against a soft brake pedal and extended stopping distances. Motul DOT 5.1 is fully compatible with and can be safely mixed with existing DOT 3 and DOT 4 brake fluids. It is also suitable for use in trucks equipped with ABS brake systems and other electronic stability programs like ESP and ASR. This fluid is glycol ether-based and explicitly not silicone-based, distinguishing it from DOT 5 silicone fluids. While DOT 5.1 fluid is more expensive than standard options, its benefits are presented as a worthwhile investment for maintaining optimal braking performance and safety, particularly in heavy-duty applications. The manufacturer recommends two bottles for a complete bleed, flush, and fill of a Dodge Ram's brake system.
