Double Adjustable Rear Shock

The Strange Engineering S5042 is a double adjustable rear shock engineered as a direct bolt-in for 2005-2014 Ford Mustangs, designed to offer ultimate suspension tuning capabilities. This shock features a lightweight aluminum body and independent external adjustment knobs, providing 10 distinct settings for both extension and compression. This independent adjustability allows chassis tuners complete dampening control. For drag racing, softening the extension allows for greater downward force on the rear tires, while stiffening compression delays the return to normal ride height. In performance street or road racing scenarios, stiffening both extension and compression settings effectively reduces body roll, enhancing handling and cornering characteristics. The design allows for quick changes to accommodate varying conditions, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including Street, Street/Strip, Pro Touring, and dedicated Drag Race use. Rotating the adjustment knobs clockwise stiffens the valving. The shock includes an upper stud with rubber cushions, concave washers, a lock nut, a lower polyurethane bushing, and a steel inner sleeve. Extended dimensions measure 20.09 inches, and compressed dimensions are 12.88 inches. The shock is rebuildable and can be revalved, with custom valving also available upon request.
