The Unitronic DQ381.2 Unlocked TCU serves as a critical performance solution for owners seeking to unlock their transmission's potential on vehicles equipped with locked "401" TCU hardware. By replacing the factory unit with this expertly prepared, genuine Bosch component, users gain access to Unitronic's TCU performance software, which delivers increased clutch pressure, advanced torque management, optimized drive and sport modes, and quicker gear shifts. Installation of this module is designed to be plug-and-play; however, professional installation is strongly recommended, as it is rated a 4 out of 5 in difficulty. An optional Install Kit is available to provide necessary service items and hardware for those due for a gearbox service. Note that a Unitronic TCU Tune is strictly required to complete this upgrade. When purchasing, you must be prepared to provide your specific TCU ID, TCU Revision, and VIN. This information is mandatory to ensure the unit is correctly configured for your vehicle.
