The APR DQ381 DSG Performance Software Upgrade is a Transmission Control Unit (TCU) upgrade designed to significantly enhance the function, drivability, and performance of the DQ381 7-Speed DSG / S-Tronic Transmission. This upgrade smooths out normal daily driving by addressing common quirks and complaints. For sporty driving, it offers increased torque capacity, higher clutch pressure (up to 17.5 bar / 255 PSI), faster shifting times, and more capable launch control, shaving .2 seconds off a Stage 2 S3's quarter-mile time. The software is optimized to match the power output of ECU upgrades for faster acceleration. Customizable features allow personalization of the transmission settings during the flashing process. The software loads through the factory TCU via the OBD-II port, ensuring a clean installation. Key features include optimized part-throttle and wide-open throttle maps, increased clutch torque limits, an increased manual downshift lockout limit (with removal of first gear lockout), lightning-fast paddle response and shift times, reduced pull-away delay, customizable auto up-shift behavior, customizable 3-step launch control with selectable RPMs, launch control enabled with ESP on, an unlimited launch counter, and an active gear display in all modes. This upgrade requires the vehicle to be dropped off at ECS Tuning's facility in Ohio.
