Overview

The Takata Racing DRIFT III is a street-legal 4-point harness featuring 3-inch shoulder belts and 2-inch lap belts. It is manufactured in accordance with ECE-R 16.04 and FMVSS 209 standards, making it legal for use in street cars in all US states with mandatory seat belt laws.

This belt utilizes a center push-button release buckle and includes comfort padding. The bolt-on design allows for attachment to factory mounting points, with adjustable shoulder belt brackets that can be removed for use with harness bars or roll bars.

The Takata Drift III ASM harness is a 4-point bolt-on safety restraint engineered in Germany for passenger cars equipped with factory seats. The belt layout includes 3-inch wide shoulder belts for comfort and support, paired with 2-inch lap belts. The harness includes bendable stainless steel hardware that attaches to existing factory seat belt mounting points, which allows for installation without affecting the operation of the vehicle's original seat belt system. The shoulder belts can either be mounted to the rear 'D' and 'E' lap belt points or wrapped directly to a harness bar or roll cage. Installation requires specific seat compatibility: these harnesses must only be used with seats that feature a dedicated 'pass-through' for the shoulder belts, such as racing seats or factory seats with adjustable headrests. This product is not compatible with seats featuring integrated headrests that would force the belts to be routed around the outside. Additionally, the rear passenger seats must not be occupied while this harness is in use.
