Driveline Mount Bushing

The JXB Performance Driveshaft Carrier is an aftermarket upgrade designed to replace the factory center support bearing carrier found in the 2nd generation Cadillac CTS-V. The stock component utilizes a thin rubber bushing that, while effective at isolating NVH, allows for excessive movement of the driveshaft under load. This movement can lead to driveline slop, laggy response during shifts and throttle changes, and can contribute to driveshaft misalignment over time. The OEM rubber bushing is also prone to degradation, cracking, and dry rot within 5-10 years, further exacerbating these issues. This upgraded carrier features more solid bushings that keep the driveshaft firmly centered, maintaining proper torque delivery and alignment. This results in a more direct and responsive driveline feel, with benefits reported by customers including more direct throttle response, firmer shifts, and smoother low-speed operation. The product is available with either Street or Track bushings, with Track bushings being twice as stiff as Street bushings. Street bushings are generally recommended for most vehicles to minimize NVH transmission, while Track bushings are suited for performance-oriented applications. A "Give me Both!" option is also available, providing a full set of each bushing type for customized tuning. Installation involves clamping the two-part JXB carrier around the OEM bearing. While the driveshaft does not need to be removed, the original carrier must be cut off, requiring a cutting tool. The process involves removing splash shields and exhaust components to access the carrier, then cutting off the OEM carrier and preparing the bearing surface before clamping the new carrier into place.
