Over time, the OEM bushing can become brittle and crack, further exacerbating these issues and putting additional stress on the driveshaft joints. This JXB upgrade features more solid bushings that prevent the bearing from moving off-center, thereby maintaining proper torque delivery and driveshaft alignment for a more responsive driveline. This upgrade offers several benefits, including more direct throttle response, firmer shifts, and quicker launches. It also helps reduce vibrations caused by driveshaft misalignment and can improve low-speed on/off throttle behavior. The carrier is available with "Street" bushings for quieter operation and better NVH absorption, or "Track" bushings for maximum stiffness and performance, which are roughly twice the durometer of the street bushings. Both options are significantly stiffer than stock. Installation of this carrier does not require the driveshaft to be removed or disassembled. The two-part design clamps around the OEM bearing. However, the old carrier must be removed, necessitating the use of a cutting tool. The process involves removing interfering braces, shields, or exhaust components, cutting off the OEM carrier, and then clamping the new JXB carrier around the bearing. This JXB Performance Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Carrier Upgrade is specifically designed for the BMW F40 1 Series, including models like the M135i xDrive and 120d xDrive.
