The Febi Bilstein 19890 is a driveshaft flex disc designed to connect the transmission's output shaft to the driveshaft. This component helps to absorb vibrations and torque shock, allowing for smoother power delivery from the transmission to the wheels. It is a common source of drivetrain vibration when the rubber deteriorates over time due to torque stress and heat.

Its primary function is to allow flex within the drivetrain and to significantly reduce vibrations and torque shock. This flexibility helps to alleviate stress on the driveshaft and other related drivetrain components, contributing to a smoother power delivery to the wheels. Over time, the rubber material in the flex disc can deteriorate due to constant torque stress and heat generated during operation. Symptoms of a worn or damaged flex disc include increased vibrations during acceleration, clunking or thudding noises when shifting gears or accelerating, and uneven or jerky acceleration. It is recommended to inspect this joint during regular vehicle servicing and replace it if signs of wear are present to prevent complete failure. This flex disc is manufactured in Germany and comes with a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty. It is compatible with a wide range of BMW models, including various 3 Series (325xi, 328i xDrive, 328xi, 330xi, 335i xDrive, 335xi), 5 Series (525xi, 528i xDrive, 528xi, 530xi, 535i xDrive, 535xi, 545i), 6 Series (645Ci), 7 Series (745i, 745Li), and X1 (xDrive28i, xDrive35i) models.
