The AEM Intakes 21-490B is a cold air intake system engineered to enhance engine performance by drawing in cooler, denser air from outside the engine compartment. This increased oxygen supply leads to more efficient combustion and a noticeable increase in horsepower and torque. Constructed with a smooth-flowing, mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum intake tube finished in blue, this system is designed to optimize airflow. It includes the innovative, oil-free AEM Dryflow air filter, which offers high-flow capacity and excellent filtration for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is required. The filter is made from a durable non-woven synthetic material that doesn't require oiling, preventing potential over-oiling issues. The filter's large end diameter is 6 inches, and its shape is round, with a height of 5.125 inches and a red color. It comes complete with all necessary mounting hardware and comprehensive installation instructions. AEM Intakes monitors engine control system fuel correction factors and sensors during development to ensure no "Check Engine" lights are triggered. The product is proudly manufactured in the USA and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. This AEM Intakes system is compatible with 2000-2002 Volkswagen Golf, 1999 Volkswagen Golf GTI, and 1999-2003 Volkswagen Jetta models.
