DS1.11 Front Brake Pads

The Ferodo FCP4805W DS1.11 brake pads are engineered for demanding track use and endurance racing, designed as direct replacements for OEM calipers. The DS1.11 compound offers a moderate friction coefficient (mu) across all temperatures, providing a distinct feel compared to other endurance racing compounds. While requiring increased pedal force for response and exhibiting a slightly declining torque curve as temperatures rise, many drivers prefer this characteristic for enhanced control. This compound is particularly effective with street tires, as it reduces the likelihood of ABS activation. These pads are formulated to be very gentle on brake discs, especially when a proper pad transfer layer is established at track temperatures. They boast outstanding maximum temperature capabilities and fade resistance, though not quite as high as the DS3.12 compound. The low pad compression ensures short and consistent pedal travel, contributing to a reliable and predictable braking experience. Ferodo's DS1.11 pads offer a long service life compared to many other compounds on the market, though slightly less than the DS3.12. They are specifically recommended for use with vehicles exceeding 3,000 lbs with high horsepower and R-compound tires when extended wear rates are a priority. They are compatible with various Porsche Boxster and Cayman models from 2012 onwards, including the 718, 981, 982, and 991 front axles.
