DSG DQ250 20-Row Gearbox Oil Cooler

The BAR-TEK® gearbox oil cooler is an essential upgrade for performance-enhanced DSG DQ250 transmissions, especially in 2.0 TFSI & TSI engines. It is designed to combat rising gear oil temperatures that can occur during high loads, such as during track use or after significant tuning (e.g., chip tuning or conversions exceeding 400 hp), which can force the gearbox into an emergency mode. This kit features a 20-row oil cooler, effectively doubling the cooling surface compared to the standard 10-row unit found in many DSG gearboxes. This increased cooling capacity ensures optimal temperature management for the transmission oil, even under strenuous conditions, thereby protecting the gearbox from potential failure at high power levels. The cooler is a direct replacement for the original 10-row cooler and is designed for Plug & Play installation. It is suitable for 6-speed DSG DQ250 transmissions in engines like the 2.0 TFSI & TSI. However, it is explicitly noted that this cooler is not suitable for Golf 7 platform vehicles with a DQ250 transmission; for those, a 13-row cooler is required. On some vehicles, the rear connection may be angled, necessitating the removal of the screw pump from the engine block and securing the hoses with cable ties. BAR-TEK® also recommends replacing the sealing rings during installation, with suitable options available as accessories. The product is also noted as being "Made in Germany" and comes with a 3-year warranty from BAR-TEK®, which covers material and manufacturing defects but excludes issues arising from improper installation or maintenance, incorrect tuning, use of unsuitable lubricants, foreign object damage, leaks, contaminants, blocked engine ventilation, increased exhaust back pressure, inadequate component dimensioning, accidents, theft, flooding, or exceeding maximum turbo speed.
