Unlike restrictive single-carburetor setups, this dual 40mm Solex system places a dedicated venturi over each cylinder head intake port, ensuring your engine breathes more efficiently and providing a noticeable boost in torque throughout the RPM range. Every component, from gaskets to hardware, is selected to ensure a leak-free seal and long-lasting reliability, offering a perfect balance of "old-school" reliability and modern manufacturing precision. This kit is designed for Type 1 dual-port upright engines and includes standard fitment for Volkswagen Beetles (1971-1977), Karmann Ghias (1971-1974), specific Type 2 Buses (1971 with 1600cc Dual Port Engine), and Things (1973-1974). It is also suitable for custom applications on any air-cooled VW Type 1 based engine (1600cc to 1914cc) utilizing dual-port cylinder heads. Key specifications include: Dual 40mm Solex carburetors with pre-installed 28mm venturis, heavy-duty cast aluminum dual-port intake manifolds, premium X-Bar Hex Bar Linkage, high-flow gauze air cleaners with chrome tops, standard barbed fuel inlets, and all necessary hardware, studs, nuts, washers, and base gaskets.
