Overview

The LuK Dual-Mass Flywheel is a revolutionary technology for damping torsional vibrations in the drivetrain. It consists of two masses mounted to rotate against each other, with an integrated arc spring damping system. This design absorbs engine vibrations and torque spikes, preventing damage to the gearbox and reducing bending stress on the engine's crankshaft.

Developed by Schaeffler engineers under the LuK brand, this technology utilizes two counter-rotating masses with an integrated arc spring system. This sophisticated design absorbs nearly all engine vibrations and torque spikes, thereby protecting the gearbox from damage. Beyond protecting the transmission, the LuK DMF contributes to a smoother driving experience by reducing vibrations felt at the clutch pedal and throughout the powertrain. This leads to increased driver and passenger comfort across all speed ranges. Furthermore, by enabling smoother low-speed driving, it can contribute to lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions, as it is individually fine-tuned for each specific vehicle application. This dual-mass flywheel features a diameter of 23.9 cm and is constructed from alloy steel. It is designed with 6 flywheel-to-crankshaft bolt holes and does not have a replaceable friction surface. The LuK DMF063 is specifically designed for the 2003 Acura CL with a 3.2L V6 engine.
