It features a high-density, dual-pass bar-and-plate core to replace the factory tube-and-fin intercooler, which can be overwhelmed and suffer from heat soak under higher boost levels. This intercooler is built with CNC-machined, plug-and-play fittings that are compatible with various charge pipes.

The VRSF "Competition HD" Front-Mount Intercooler is engineered as a direct replacement for the stock intercooler in B48, B46, and B58 engines, particularly within F-chassis BMW models. This upgrade is presented as an essential component for a Stage 2 build, necessitating a tune for optimal performance. Construction highlights include a robust bar-and-plate core with CNC-machined plug-and-play fittings, ensuring compatibility with both OEM and aftermarket charge pipes. The intercooler boasts a durable black powder-coat finish, is hand-finished, and undergoes pressure testing to ensure reliability. It replaces OEM part number 17118741830. Fitment is specified for F-chassis models from 2016–2019, including the 120i/M140i (F20/F21), 220i/230i/M240i (F22/F23), 320i/330i/340i (F30/F31), and 420i/430i/440i (F32/F33/F36) equipped with B46, B48, or B58 engines. It is also noted to fit G20, G21, and G42 chassis. The product comes with a VRSF lifetime warranty. Charge piping is not included and can be either the OEM or an aftermarket solution.
