Description

The Hybrid Racing K-Series Timing Chain Tensioner is engineered as a direct replacement for the OEM Honda tensioner in K Series engines, offering enhanced durability and performance. This tensioner addresses common wear issues found in OEM units, particularly when aftermarket cams are installed. Unlike solutions that simply stiffen the OEM spring, which can accelerate timing chain stretch, the Hybrid Racing tensioner is built from scratch. This precise fitment prevents misalignment of the ratcheting mechanism, a common cause of premature wear in stock tensioners. Furthermore, the internal oil passageways are optimized for quicker response to oil pressure changes. This is crucial for engines that experience rapid RPM increases and high-rev shifts. The tensioner functions identically to the OEM unit but provides superior resistance to the stresses of aggressive engine builds. Applications include: 2002 - 2006 Acura RSX 2004 - 2008 Acura TSX 2006 - 2011 Honda Civic Si All K-Swaps using K20A, K20Z, or K24A series engines. It is specifically recommended for vehicles running aftermarket cams and valve springs, or stock cam vehicles regularly exceeding 8,500 RPM. The product includes all necessary mounting hardware.
