The Hybrid Racing Timing Chain Tensioner is a direct replacement upgrade for K-series engines, featuring a robust dual-ratchet design. This design, coupled with tighter tolerances than OEM Honda chain tensioners, ensures greater durability and reliability, making it a crucial component for engines utilizing aftermarket cams and valve springs. Engineered with optimized internal oil passages, this tensioner responds faster to oil pressure changes, particularly during high RPMs and rapid revving, ensuring consistent timing chain tension. It is compatible with a range of K20A, K20Z, and K24A engines, including specific applications in the 2002-2006 Acura RSX, 2004-2008 Acura TSX, 2003-2007 Honda Accord, 2002-2011 Honda Civic Si, 2002-2006 Honda CR-V, and 2003-2011 Honda Element. It also fits K swaps in other chassis using these engine series. The manufacturer notes that this tensioner is recommended for any build running aftermarket cams or for stock cam applications revving past 8,500 RPM, as the factory tensioner is not designed for such abuse.
