The Kibblewhite 80-0449 valve springs are a performance-oriented replacement component designed to exceed OEM durability and expected cyclical life. Manufactured from super-clean chrome-silicone valve spring wire, these dual springs are put through a rigorous heat treatment, stress-relief, and shot-peening process. This ensures they can handle demanding applications and provide reliable performance. Each spring is engineered for a maximum lift of 0.440 inches, with both intake and exhaust seat pressures rated at 85 lbs. at the installed height. The design allows for direct use with stock spring retainers and locators, simplifying installation as no additional retainers or locators are required. This set includes 8 springs, providing enough for a complete engine application. Kibblewhite Precision Machining has over 70 years of experience in valvetrain engineering, utilizing sophisticated design and simulation software to determine critical characteristics such as stress, natural frequency, system harmonics, and fatigue life. This extensive R&D contributes to the high-performance and long-lasting nature of their products. These Kibblewhite valve springs are specifically designed as replacement parts for the 1978-1981 Yamaha XS1100 models.
