This system utilizes a single 4-piston caliper, strategically dividing its function with two pistons dedicated to the foot brake and two for the handbrake, each operating on an independent system. The calipers are forged from aerospace-quality aluminum, ensuring exceptional strength and even thickness to prevent fracturing, warping, or failure. Caliper pistons are aluminum, protected by heavy-duty seals capable of handling racetrack temperatures, and feature an opposed-piston design for consistent brake pad grip and wear. Standard features include high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates. The center sections are crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, reducing rotational mass for quicker wheel response. This design also minimizes rotor warping due to heat and provides effective heat dissipation. Buyers can choose between Slotted Rotors, recommended for track use due to their ability to manage heat, dust, and gases, or Cross Drilled Rotors, recommended for daily driven vehicles as they run cooler and continuously clean the pad surface. The kit includes SC5 Street Brake Pads, offering optimal performance for street and occasional track use with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. Standard kit components include two forged monoblock aluminum calipers, two lightweight two-piece rotors (slotted or drilled), a set of SC5 street brake pads, two stainless steel brake lines, all required mounting components and hardware, and an owner's manual. The kit is covered by a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturer defects. Ksport Big Brake kits are built to order, with an estimated production and delivery time of 4-6 weeks.
