This system employs a single 4-piston caliper, with two pistons dedicated to the primary foot brake and the other two serving the handbrake, each operating on its own independent system. Constructed from a lightweight forged one-piece caliper body made from aerospace-quality aluminum, this design ensures uniform thickness and superior strength to prevent fractures, warpage, and failure. The aluminum caliper pistons are protected by heavy-duty seals capable of withstanding high racetrack temperatures. An opposed-piston configuration promotes consistent brake pad grip and wear, while high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates are standard. The two-piece rotor design contributes to lightweight, fade-free performance and effective grip. This design also minimizes rotor warping due to heat buildup. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily drivers for cooler operation, while slotted rotors are suggested for more track-focused use due to their ability to wipe away heat, dust, and gases. This Big Brake Kit is Formula Drift legal and includes SC5 Street Pads as standard, offering optimal braking performance for street and occasional track use with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The calipers offer extensive customization options for color, including standard painted finishes and premium high-polish or anodized options. Center bell customization with Titanium or twin-color anodized bells is also available. The kit also features D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines for improved pedal response and feel.
