The Ksport Dualcomp Rear Big Brake Kit is a specialized braking solution engineered for performance driving, including drifting and rally racing, for the Volkswagen MK5 Jetta. This innovative dual caliper system utilizes a single 4-piston caliper, with two pistons dedicated to the primary foot brake and the remaining two operating an independent handbrake system. Constructed for durability and performance, the kit features lightweight forged one-piece calipers made from aerospace-quality aluminum. The opposed-piston design promotes even brake pad wear. The accompanying two-piece rotors are significantly lighter than OEM equivalents, with a 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum center section that acts as a heat sink, reducing the likelihood of warping and enhancing heat dissipation. The kit includes Cross Drilled rotors, recommended for daily driven vehicles, which run cooler and offer increased bite while cleaning the pad surface. Included in the kit are SC5 Street Pads, offering optimal braking performance for street use with reduced dust and noise. For those seeking enhanced track performance, an upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available. The system also incorporates D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent expansion under pressure for a quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel compared to standard rubber lines. The kit comes complete with CNC machined carbon steel caliper brackets for direct bolt-up to OEM locations and a polished titanium handbrake cylinder and lever. Customization options are available, including a variety of caliper colors such as Ksport Orange, Red, Black, and Yellow, with premium finishes like high polish Silver, Gold, Titanium, and various glassy/hard anodized colors at an additional cost.
