For optimal performance and longevity, Yukon recommends using high-grade non-synthetic GL-5 gear oil and a specific Yukon LSD additive. The use of synthetic oil is not advised as it may lead to aggressive or noisy operation. Additionally, this unit requires specific carrier bearing & race part numbers (LM102949 & LM102910) and ring gear bolt part number YSPBLT-014.
