The Elite Engineering E2 is an enhanced 2nd generation oil catch can, specifically engineered for engines with forced induction, turbochargers, or superchargers. Building upon the success of their original design, this larger capacity catch can offers 30% more volume, ensuring more effective separation of oil mist and fuel vapors from crankcase blow-by. Its sophisticated 3-chamber system, featuring a larger third stage, is designed to trap oil and condensed fuel vapors while allowing cleaner gases to pass into the intake manifold. Constructed from premium materials, the E2 catch can is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with a durable black anodize finish. The internal filtration screen is made of stainless steel encased in an aluminum housing, promoting low flow restriction. The housing can be disassembled for cleaning or inspection. The inlet and outlet hose fittings are typically brass (with other options available), and the supplied hoses are SAE 30R7 rated for fuel and oil vapor compatibility. All mounting hardware and the custom-machined mounting bracket are also stainless steel and 6061-T6 aluminum, respectively, ensuring durability and a clean look. The purpose of the PCV system is to remove crankcase fumes and alleviate pressure, routing them to the intake manifold for combustion. However, excessive oil vapor can lead to detrimental effects such as throttle body and MAFS malfunction, intake contamination, reduced octane leading to detonation and power loss, excessive carbon buildup, and increased emissions. The Elite Engineering E2 catch can directly addresses these issues by effectively separating oil from the vapors before they enter the intake system. The unique 3-chamber design slows down vapor, captures oil in the stainless steel mesh, and then uses a diffusion chamber with specific hole patterns to ensure only clean air vapor passes through to the third exit chamber. This kit includes the catch can assembly, a custom-fit mounting bracket for specific vehicle applications, all necessary stainless steel mounting hardware, 3/8" ID fuel and oil vapor compatible hose, PCV adapter hardware, and black zinc-plated hose clamps. Basic mechanical skills and common hand tools are sufficient for installation. Options for integrated exit check valves and dual exit ports are available for enhanced functionality, particularly for forced induction setups. The stored oil volume is approximately 11 ounces, and the bottom reservoir can be easily removed for inspection and cleaning without disturbing the mounting system or hoses.
