E36 "PRO" Self Centering Chassis Short Shifter

The Garagistic E36 "PRO" Self Centering Chassis Short Shifter is engineered for precision and customization, crafted from solid billet 7075 aluminum. It features an exclusive self-centering mechanism driven by a precisely tuned torsion spring, offering ideal centering force. This shifter boasts ultra-smooth shifting feel due to bearings at all pivot points, eliminating metal-on-metal contact and the potential for squeaking or resistance associated with bronze or delrin alternatives. This is the most customizable shifter on the market, with over 600 configurations available, allowing you to tailor the height, knob type, shift knob, and finish to your interior's aesthetic. Features include adjustable height and throw, shifter lean adjustment to correct common 5th gear lean issues (especially in E36 and E46 models), and front-to-back fine adjustment for precise positioning. It also offers OEM shift knob compatibility for a stealthy look and easy serviceability, as the center console does not need to be removed for lubrication. Installation is straightforward, utilizing existing chassis holes with no permanent modifications required for most applications. For older vehicles like E30 and E36, drilling three holes in the transmission tunnel is necessary. It is important to note that, as with all solid shifters, this product must be used in conjunction with upgraded polyurethane or solid transmission bushings and motor mounts. A Garagistic DSSR is highly recommended for the most direct shifting experience, and customers should provide their VIN for proper DSSR selection. The shifter comes with a new molded gasket for interior sealing. Fitment includes E30, E36, E39, E46, E60, and E63 models. Different rod lengths (Short, Medium, Tall, OEM) are available, each affecting throw and feel; the 'Short' rod offers a shorter, more notchy throw, while 'Tall' provides a longer, less notchy throw. The OEM option allows for the use of factory BMW shift knobs. It is advised to consider the varying heights of center consoles when selecting a rod length, with Medium or Tall recommended for a more street-friendly experience. Carbon fiber rods are available separately. Some installation may result in a slight tilt due to transmission angle, adjustable via the 5th gear tilt screw.
