Rear subframe cracking is a well-documented issue on the E46 chassis, often occurring as mileage, grip, and suspension loads increase. The factory sheet metal can fatigue, crack, or tear from the chassis at the rear subframe mounting points. By reinforcing these critical mounting areas, the plates effectively distribute loads into a larger, more robust section of the chassis. This design serves as both a preventative upgrade for healthy chassis and a structural component for proper repair of existing damage. Precision cut from .125" (1/8") steel, these reinforcement plates are designed for weld-in installation, becoming an integrated part of the chassis. They are ideally installed during subframe service or repair and are particularly well-suited for vehicles used for spirited street driving, track days, or high-grip applications. The plates are proudly made in the USA and come with a lifetime warranty. Installation of these reinforcement plates requires welding, and professional installation is recommended to ensure optimal results and structural integrity.
