EA211 Upgrade Turbocharger

The TTE290 4141 EA211 is a performance upgrade turbocharger designed for the 1.4 TSI EA211 VAG engine, offering a significant boost over stock configurations. This turbocharger starts life as a brand new Genuine IHI OEM unit, meticulously upgraded by The Turbo Engineers (TTE). The upgrade process involves fitting a larger, lightweight billet compressor wheel for improved responsiveness and efficiency. The compressor cover is CNC re-profiled in-house to precise tolerances for maximum compressor efficiency. The exhaust turbine housing is also CNC re-profiled to accept a higher-flow TTE turbine and shaft, which increases gas flow, reduces back pressure, and lowers exhaust gas temperatures, enabling safer higher boost levels. Testing has shown proven results of 270PS at 1.2 bar and 290PS at 1.5 bar. Precision balancing is a critical aspect of TTE turbochargers. Each unit is balanced in multiple planes at slow speeds and then dynamically balanced at up to 250,000 RPM using an in-house VSR machine to meet standards significantly higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test result document. However, software recalibration is required after installation. Depending on the specific vehicle, you may need to blank the EGT sensor hole. TTE highly recommends the Forge intake system when using the TTE290. It is possible to fit this turbo to 1.4 TSI 122ps engines fitted with MHI or BOSCH MAHLE turbochargers, but these units cannot be reconditioned for upgrade and must be purchased new as the TTE290 is an upgraded IHI turbocharger.
