The Integrated Engineering air intake system is engineered to enhance airflow for VW MK7 and Audi 8V EA888 Gen 3 engines, aiming to improve performance and driving enjoyment. This system features 3.5-inch intake piping and a 5-inch air filter, designed with a focus on flow optimization for tuned engines, as well as hybrid and larger turbocharger applications. The intake system integrates smoothly with factory airbox mounts, ensuring a precise fit and straightforward installation, which is estimated to take around 1 hour. It includes 3-ply silicone couplers for both stock and optional upgraded turbo inlets, a heat shield constructed from aluminum alloy to channel cool air from the front grill, and a built-in velocity stack for efficient airflow channeling. The design also amplifies engine and turbo sounds for a more engaging driving experience. For harsh environments, an optional filter upgrade with a 3-step filtration process is available, offering enhanced protection against contaminants. The product is CARB certified and emissions compliant for all 50 states. However, specific fitment exclusions apply: it does not fit Audi A3 engines equipped with a MAF sensor (often found in FWD models). VW Arteon models have specific requirements, including potential washer filler neck relocation for the optional carbon fiber lid and the necessity of the IE Turbo Inlet Pipe upgrade, which is sold separately. Additionally, some European models may require minor modification to the heat shield to accommodate a front-mounted crash sensor. Flow bench testing indicates significant airflow improvements, with up to a 67% increase over stock when paired with the optional IE turbo inlet.
