EA888 Gen3 TSI BOSS Turbocharger Upgrade Kit

The CTS Turbo EA888 Gen3 TSI BOSS turbocharger upgrade kit is a complete bolt-on big turbo solution engineered for Gen3 NON-MQB (CPLA/CPPA) engines. Developed using advanced 3D rapid prototyping, this kit aims to work seamlessly with existing aftermarket modifications without requiring custom fabrication, differentiating it from IS38 swaps. At its core is a reverse rotation, dual ball-bearing 67mm turbocharger designed for a balance of quick spool and significant power output, capable of exceeding 400 horsepower. The CHRA utilizes a heat-resistant ceramic dual ball-bearing system and is precisely balanced on a VSR high-speed balancer for reliability. The result is a dependable power increase, achieving up to 400hp on stock fueling with 93 octane fuel. Installation involves removing the factory turbocharger, transferring the wastegate actuator, and utilizing supplied hardware. This kit is designed as a factory location bolt-on solution, compatible with 3″ intakes and downpipes, and the factory turbo outlet pipe. It includes a proprietary 3″ compressor cover with factory-spec intake and outlet locations, a stainless steel flow-optimized exhaust housing, and relocated diverter valve and wastegate actuator locations for ease of installation. Oil and coolant lines are also provided for direct use with factory connections. Crucially, this turbocharger upgrade requires specific software tuning. Unitronic Stage 3 software is mandatory and is available for 2.0T Gen3 Volkswagen GLI (manual or DSG) vehicles equipped with SIMOS 18 ECUs only. For DSG-equipped vehicles, Stage 2 TCU Performance Software is also required. The kit is primarily compatible with 2013.5-2017 MK6 Jetta EA888.3 (2.0TSI) models. Hardware-only compatibility extends to MK6 Jetta 1.8TSI, Mk2 Beetle EA888.3 (1.8TSI and 2.0TSI), and B7 Passat EA888.3 engines. Additionally, a CTS Turbo 3″ high-flow intake, 3″ high-flow downpipe, direct-fit intercooler upgrade, and charge pipe set are recommended for optimal performance.
